Knowing who God is

I think the key sentence for me is , ‘Our biggest failures in prayer begin when we rush into God’s presence and start presenting our petitions without any regard to who God is.’

The practice of calling God ‘Father’ has never worried me but I know some people who have had bad experiences with their earthly father have difficulties in using the word ‘Father’, even when addressing God.

Yet, it’s the fact that even the ‘best’ earthly father is still  imperfect that draws into greater contrast the perfection of God and that we can trust Him to be our perfect Father and that He  perfectly loves us – what’s your view on this?
