Selwyn, now considers the next part of Jesus’ prayer; ‘My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.’ (John 17:20).
It gives me great comfort to know that Jesus is still praying for us in the same way as He did then – that it’s still our mission today with the help of the Holy Spirit, to lead others to Jesus through this wonderfull message of good news. It’s amazing that after nearly two thousand years that His message is still being heard in many parts of the world and sometimes under very difficult circumstances.
Selwyn’s prayer, as follows, is excellent; “Father, nothing could be clearer – we are not saved merely to be safe but saved to make others safe. We are saved to serve! May my lips and my life speak forth Your praise day by day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
In the western world – then is a concern for privacy and a reluctance to share our beliefs with others – how do you deal with this specific issue?
