Effective evangelism

The following point made in Jesus’ prayer (John 17:23) , as discussed by Selwyn, is indeed staggering; ‘… May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.’

I sometimes feel that people in the various denominations who focus on differences, to justify exclusiveness of purpose, are not true followers of Jesus – they are more members of a ‘religious’ club.

I totally agree with Selwyn, when he says; ‘ … the more we give ourselves to the Trinity the easier it will be to give ourselves to our brothers and sisters, As we draw out love from the Trinity we then share it with all we meet.’

Those who are unable to give themselves to others don’t have a loving relationship with God – is this too harsh a view?
