I agree with Selwyn when he says: “All the major religions of the world have had their share of fanatics who, by their burning passion, are driven to extreme acts of violence. That fire within them is a terrible, destructive fire.” Those who try to justify their violence by claiming that God is on their side – will have to verify their claim in front of a perfect judge. I feel that not many of them will fit the mould of prophets like Elijah!
Selwyn finishes with a hopeful conclusion: “What is the answer to all of this (the many baneful fies burning in our world)? How can these fires which roar out of hell be engulfed and brought under control? The answer is Pentecost. We have hinted at this before, but now we will explore the matter in much greater detail.”
It’s important to be assured that God is in control; and, although the fires of hell may be fierce, they never destroy the hope of the children of God. Do you agree?
