Mick Brooks the Consulting Editor for CWR’s publication Every Day with Jesus, had this to say in his word of introduction to this issue (Nov/Dec 2009). ” … In this issue, Selwyn helps us to take practical steps forward in our spiritual life. He leads us through the letters of James and John, which contain within them principles that will help us grow in our understanding of God and, if followed, will allow Him to transform us into the likeness of His Son through the power of the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)”

In the first study, Selwyn talks about James (a brother or close relative [e.g. step-brother] of Jesus); who, addresses Jesus in his letter – as ‘the Lord’. At the time of writing his letter, James clearly sees Jesus as the Son of God.
