‘Ouch, stop squeezing’

I think the following is a good summary of today’s study: “(In today’s world) … covetousness is termed ambition, hoarding is regarded as prudent, and greed is defined as being industrious. … Why am I saying all this? Because until we understand the thinking of our sick society we will not be able to see how we are being squeezed into the worlds’s mould – how much of the spirit of mammon we have absorbed.”

However, we should keep in mind that the world has always been like this – the world is broken by the weight of sin within it – all through the ages people have followed their own desires and have ignored the ways of Our Lord.

The verse for today, has always been relevant, Romans 12:2 (NIV): “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (by the Holy Spirit, as you follow Jesus).”
