The divine mind

To Follow Jesus

My notes on Every Day with Jesus, written by Selwyn Hughes; revised and updated by Mick Brooks, published by CWR.

May/June 2016 Issue –  The Presence of God‘You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.’ Psalm 16:11

The text set for today’s reading and meditation (the key verse is highlighted):

Romans 11:33-36 (NIVUK): ”Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

‘Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counsellor?’ ‘Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?’

For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.”

As created beings we just can’t grasp the awesomeness of our Almighty God.

I agree with Selwyn when he says: “Yesterday we started to think about God’s attentiveness to us, His much loved children. The divine mind is so vast, so profound that He can think of every one of His children at the same time. And His care and concern for us, I believe, extends to the tiniest details of our lives. …

To create the world He simply spoke, but to save us He had to give His one and only Son to die on a cross. (Therefore, I think it is safe to say that) the humblest soul means more to Him than a million galaxies.”

Our Father holds us all in His hands and He has the ability to know what is happening in our lives – all – of the time.  This truth is amazing and worth some of our time today; to meditate on just how much Jesus’ loves, each and everyone of us. We are always on His mind.
